Progress

So I have seriously neglected my blog. I've been so busy crafting and reading other people's blog that I haven't made time for my own. Shameful!. Starting today, I'm going to do better. Since I first signed up for this blog I've dabbled in sewing, knitting and crocheting, making pendants, and greeting cards, and fun recipes. I love them all. And I work on whatever I feel like doing for the day. I spend just as much time researching and exploring the interest and craft stores as I do the actual project. Most of my inspiration comes from the collection that I've assemble on Pinterest. Micheals coupons and Joanne coupons are my enablers. I go in those stores just looking to buy something that I can save 40% on and I usually do and more. My crafting corner is growing out of control. Below is an overview of my hobby status. These should improve over time. I've made significant improvements and some additions since I started this blog so now I'll document and track the progress.

Sewing= Disaster
I've putting sewing to side right now because every new project that I've started FAILED before I could even finish the row of stitches. I can't stop the material from bunching, I haven't figured out how to control the tension for the varied fabrics, I can't figure out how to insert an invisible zipper. Internet tutorials are not not helping to improve my skills. I will have to continue my hands-on classes to make any real progress.

Knitting and Crocheting= My current obsession
I've been using youtube and blogs to learn to knit and crochet. They are extremely helpful. I'm sure that I could benefit like 100% more if I used a knitting group. I'm having trouble knitting in the round, blocking the acrylic yard, and making my items look handmade instead of homemade.

Pendant Making= On hold
I've got some great ideas but I have to learn how to use the material. I've been dabbling in resin and polymer clay. I've heard about Precious Metal Clay (PMC). More on that later.
Paper Crafting= Boring My cards and ideas are boring and not creative. I'll have to work on that. But I have my Cricut and the SCAL software installed. There's so much potential there.

Recipes= Mario keeps frozen pizzas in the fridge
My favorite recipe source is Skinnytaste. Lately, everything has been a FAIL. Seldom does something come out delicious when I prepare it. You can't tell by the weight I'm gaining.

It's November in Chicago and the weather professionals predict that Chicago will have one of the worst winters in a long time. So I'm going to get back to working on my warm weather accessories: scarves and hats. My first hat will not be in the round. Its is a crochet slouchy hat that is gathered at the top.

My first post- My first blog

This is the very first post of my very first blog so please pardon me if I make any mistakes or violate any blogger etiquette. As for my hobbies, I'm working on so may projects right now and I love each one of them. I love every step of the process, from the pure desire to want to create something, the frustration of the most difficult and tedious tasks, to the final step of gifting. This blog allows me to express and share my experiences without yacking away and boring my friends and family.
